Over 28,000 pensioners in Sutton hit by Conservative broken promise on triple lock

The Liberal Democrats have published figures showing that 28,651 of State Pensioners in Sutton are set to be impacted by the Government breaking its manifesto promise and suspending the triple lock on pensions.

The state pension triple lock is a rule that means the state pension must rise each year in line with the highest of three possible figures, inflation, average earnings or 2.5%.

Booby Dean and the Sutton Liberal Democrats have slammed the Conservative Government’s controversial plan for social care as unfair and for hitting working families the hardest.

Afghans who served Britain must be protected

Liberal Democrat spokesperson for Carshalton & Wallington, Bobby Dean, has written to Elliot Colburn MP insisting the Government offers relocation to all those that risked their lives to serve Britain’s interests.

In the letter Mr. Dean says British servicemen and women “should hold their heads high” for their service in Afghanistan, but the Conservative Prime Minister and other political leaders should “hang their heads in shame” for making a mess of the withdrawal.

Bobby Dean selected as Lib Dem candidate for Carshalton & Wallington

Local campaigner and business owner, Bobby Dean, has been selected as the new Liberal Democrat candidate for Carshalton & Wallington.

Bobby is the first General Election candidate to be selected by the party, as they seek to continue their winning streak against the Conservatives following the Lib Dem victory in Chesham and Amersham earlier this summer.

The Liberal Democrats need just a 1% swing from the Conservatives to gain the ultra-marginal Carshalton and Wallington constituency - with the party fewer than 700 votes behind the Conservatives.
